Three easy looks with prints this spring

Who doesn't love a fresh, happy print for spring!? After wearing darker colors in the fall, so many of us are ready to throw on the bright colors and prints that say spring and summer have arrived! Prints however can be trickier to wear than a basic solid. I have three rules that I apply to myself and my clients alike when adding prints into the wardrobe.

1. Make sure the print is a small print

I find that bigger prints do exactly that… make the body appear bigger! Yikes, no thank you! Smaller prints are easier for most body types to wear and won't be near as memorable. I tend to avoid any print that comes across as distracting rather than flattering. Always remember, you don’t want what you wear to walk in the door before you do!

2. Make sure the print has movement

Fabrics that are softer and have movement will be the most flattering on. Think feminine and that should do the trick! Prints that are too structured look harsh on the body.

3. Make sure the print is age appropriate

Not all prints are wearable across the board. Simple florals…YES please! Cartoon prints of any kind what so ever…just no, no way ever! It doesn't matter if it comes in your size, that doesn't mean its ok!

Don’t shy away from fun, personality filled prints this spring! Just make sure to hit this checklist first before you purchase!  Enjoy the sunshine my friends and rock your prints!!

Keep loving what you wear!
