Crushing on Velvet and NAVY!!

Every season brings with it trends and colors and things we must grab and add to the wardrobe! This season has velvet and navy written all over it! I love how the rules of fashion are constantly changing and we of course have to change with it! Velvet used to be a holiday fabric, or a night time thing. Well guys, throw that out the window! Remember when suede was only for cold weather and patent was only worn at night?! Part of being current and stepping up your fashion game is to throw the rule book out the window!

Velvet this season comes in so many forms. I love this slip dress version because I know I can layer it with a leather jacket when it gets colder and plus it hides my crazy white legs! Winner! I also linked a velvet camisole that would look amazing under any jacket this season for only $32! Trends don’t always have to break the bank, and really tops are an easy way to add something that won’t kill the budget. Velvet is also such a soft fabric, so for all my texture gals who love cozy pieces in the closet, this is for you! Anyone can wear a velvet T shirt with skinny jeans, a bootie and a neutral cardigan!

Now I don’t want to hear anyone say they can’t wear navy! It doesn't get any more neutral than this! Navy is also a color that all ages can wear! My daughter is all about sporting her sass in this navy hoodie dress that is super comfy on and she can wear it back with black leggings when it gets colder. I added a grey one too just in case you need an option with longer sleeves for the colder months!

Dressing should be fun, you should feel current, and remember to jump on board with new things before its too late! I hate it when I miss an opportunity because I drag my feet. Not all trends are for all people and I know this full well. Velvet however; has shown itself in many forms and I am excited that there are several options for different ages and body types.

Oh, and here’s to a Happy Halloween! I will be hiding in the bathroom eating large amounts of my kids chocolate candy. Only because I love them and teaching them the life lesson of sharing…and sharing is caring right?
