Real talk, fun facts about me…and a few about Case too!

I wanted to kick off the new year with some fun facts about us... Case and I had some good laughs while we brainstormed what "facts" would be good to share, so here's a short list of things you may or may not have known about us ;-)!

1. I will eat chips and salsa at ANY hour of any day. I mean, like you could wake me up from a deep sleep and I would be game. I tell myself the salsa has some veggies in it and so therefore it must balance out my mass consumption of chips. I love spicy things, especially salsa by the spoonfuls I scoop out with my chips.

2. I LOVE handbags and shoes. Love. The small problem is that my taste in both doesn’t allow me to afford everything that I like. So, I have a wish list of sorts… I have never regretted getting nicer pieces on special occasions. They really do last!

3. I always get depressed the last day of any trip. I love traveling so much and it is my jam. I put lots of energy and dreaming into the trips we plan and take so I can never face it when its over. Poor Case has to keep me caffeinated and distracted.

4. I always want to be the last one to open my presents on Christmas, so I can draw out the anticipation of gifts longer. How sad am I?! I love presents!!

5. I sometimes dream of moving to Europe. Like sell everything we own, take my kids and Case and just start over. A simple life where we can show the kids so many different places. I am crazy about the food, the walking everywhere, the history, the architecture, all of it.

6. My favorite meal is pasta. All of it. Be careful sitting next to me because chances are I will eat yours too. To quote my husband, “you put away pasta like a fat Italian man!”

7. Fresh flowers in the house make me really happy. Life can tend to get pretty crazy and having something beautiful to look at when I plop down on the couch calms me.

8. I’m a food sharer. I will order something and then regret it the second my friend or husband’s meal comes and all the sudden looks so much better than mine! Hence I like to “share” bites so I feel that I have not missed out on anything.

9. I love Prosecco! I tried it for the first time when I went to Italy with my mom when I was 18 and it always takes me back to such a fun special memory traveling with my mom… something about the scenery, the memories, being with my mom, I can’t resist a glass that takes me back.

10. I’m super dorky and love history. Particularly english history. If Netflix has a documentary on, I’m all over it. Anything BBC I get excited! Think Downton Abbey, Pride and Prejudice, The Crown. However; Case makes fun of me and says that when I watch it too much I start to use an English accent on certain words and it drives him nuts!

11. I hate being barefoot and I always have on my Ugg slippers in the house. Case hates it bc I really am never barefoot. My feet get so cold and I am NOT having that! I buy myself a new pair every December because I wear them out.

Here are a few ones about Case that I love…

12. He can fix pretty much anything. I find this amazing because I grew up with a sweet daddy who changed lightbulbs and toilet paper. Case has fixed our cars, almost everything in the house, and if he doesn’t know how to do it… he teaches himself how. He has saved us lots of money over the years.

13. Case used to wear wranglers…full on cowboy clothes when we met! Hat and all! He even took me to an arena where he impressed me by riding a bull. We call this his “identity crisis phase”, and he was in fact the hottest cowboy I had ever seen! Clearly that’s changed over the years, but he still reverts to his West Texas voice every time we go back to Amarillo.

14. Case had never been on a plane when we met and wasn’t a huge fan of traveling… In fact he was terrified of flying and never wanted to fly. He actually had planned to never fly and only travel by driving to the lake on occasion. He now is ready to hop on a plane at a moments notice and loves traveling as much as I do! After almost 16 years together we have slowly become more and more like each other. We truly love life together and exploring new places!
