Favorite Coats and Outerwear 2015

It's getting colder out!... Now what? Some of my favorite coats and outerwear options for 2015 are here...

Parkas

I find Parkas to be a great weight transitionally going into the winter season. I don't know about you, but I'm so ready for seasonal wardrobe change that I jump at the chance to pull out my outerwear, even when its still 80 degrees in Texas! This current color in olive is such a perfect neutral, working back with the fall black and gray pallet. I threw mine back with a hudson camo jean because olive and camo are made for each other as well. Topshop tends to run a tad on the small side so don't be confused with sizing. Its normal to go up a size.

Ponchos

Kate Spade is running a 25% off through 11/15. The Plaid Poncho can be found here and information on the 25% click here

This piece made me so happy. I mean you give me fringe and plaid together and I'm going to smile...big! Ponchos are the perfect excuse to wrap up all warm and cozy. Think basically like you're wearing a fashionable blanket and getting away with it! Football games, evening strolls, casual dinners out, afternoon shopping, all perfect places to pull out your poncho. I wear mine one of two ways depending on my mood and where I'm going. Option 1. My wide leg jeans, a black pointed toe heel, and a solid black tank under. This look is my dressier option if you will. Option 2. I put on my black or dark denim ripped skinny jean (or no rips), my black booties and a white or black tee under. Remember the poncho is meant to be the main look of the outfit, not taken off like a coat. Otherwise you're now mad at me and freezing cold in a tee shirt!

Denim Jackets

The denim jacket has been a staple in the wardrobe for decades. This doesn't mean pull out your denim jacket from high school that is too tight and keeps you from lifting your arms! All things in your closet should fit your body NOW. This denim is a fun twist of trend and casual with the faux shearling collar. Denim is considered a neutral, meaning it goes with just about everything. Now who doesn't love that?! I paired mine back with a black crop and a high waisted cotton skirt for a comfortable day look.

Down Vests

Ok, so this is amazing to wear. And no, I don't actually own it, but a girl can dream right!? However; there are many alternative options so don't worry. Vests are fantastic at giving us warmth and style. The transitional weight is easy to wear when it's not super cold, but when we need more than just a top. I obviously have a small obsession with ripped denim, so of course I put the vest back with the gray Frame ripped denim and a cream solid Free People top.
