7 Road Trip Essentials

While summer vacations may be coming to a close, road trips can happen any time of the year. Case and I hop in the car quite a bit to go see family and friends. I notice that every time we take these little road trips, I always grab the same items. Here are 7 of my road trip essentials that I love to have with me in the car.

I am the girl that washes her hair as little as possible. Who wants to wash their hair just to get in the car and drive? Having a cool hat helps me feel less like a hot mess and more like I’m ready for the next fun adventure. Another plus side - hats provide additional sun protection when we are driving.

Birkenstocks

Whoever decided these gems were back in style deserves a massive hug! I love being able to slip them on and off when we make stops and honestly they just feel good.

Sunscreen

We all think about sunscreen when we are at the beach, but it’s easy to forget to apply when we are simply setting in the car. The sun can still get to you and your arms and neck are an easy target when are are sitting in the car for long periods of time. This is my new favorite sunscreen! It is completely chemical free and it gets the job done.

Sunglasses:

This is the one thing you never want to forget when you are driving in the car all day. I like to put an extra pair in my car so that I always have a back up pair if needed. Lighter weight sunglasses are great because they don’t feel heavy on your face after a long day of wear. Aviators are a style that tend to look great on most face shapes.

Boyfriend jeans

Any jean that has a more relaxed fit is perfect for longer hours in the car. They are not as tight on the waist and still give you a cute put together look when you hop out of the car. While yoga pants are super comfy, they may not give you the look you want if you are out and about taking pics on your road trip.

Longchamp tote:

These totes are amazing! They are super light weight, can fold up and be packed in any bag. They come in multiple colors and multiple sizes. Now these are not cheap bags, but definitely worth the investment. I have one in black and use it on every single trip!

Hoodie:

I tend to get cold in the car and I love having something cozy to throw on when I need it. Plus, when you are driving all day, having something soft and comfy makes trips that much more fun!

The only thing not listed in my essentials is an iced coffee. That and a great car DJ!
